LAWANG SEWU_THOUSAND DOORS

Lawang Sewu located at Tugu Muda Semarang (Central Java), it is a famous landmark in the region of Semarang, this ancient and magnificient building was on an office of Nederlandsch Indieshe Spoorweeg Naatschappij (NIS), which was built starting in 1903-1907.
people called this building "Lawang Sewu" that means thousand doors, because this building has a lot of rooms, and each room has about 4-8 doors, then if calculated is about 1000 doors. this building is a bautiful with art deco style, it said that its floors made from marble from Italy. its iron spiral staircase was made without any weld. in the main strair, there are a bautiful big mosaic. this building was design with careful and detail by Dutch architect Prof. Jacob F. Klinkhamer and B.J Queendag.
many people visit that building and they take a picture in front of the built. in afternoon, many people can come in to the building, but when evening, closed for public. many people can see the bautiful Lawang Sewu, because the lamps are good. the historycal about the buil also good to know. if you people or saty in Semarang and around it, you must visit Lawang Sewu because its so interested for visiting.
